About Me
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. As a kid, you could usually find me reading, writing in my journal or recording “documentaries” and music videos on early cellphone cameras (if only TikTok had existed then).
I studied journalism and English literature at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. While in school, I worked for the campus fashion and lifestyle magazine, TREND, and the ISU College of Design’s communications department.
At TREND, I learned the ins and outs of what it was like developing a magazine, from pitching and writing stories to designing page layouts and coordinating photoshoots. As I took on new roles and experienced every phase of the process, I fell in love with the world of magazines.
Currently, I’m the associate editor for dsm magazine, in Des Moines, Iowa. I cover the city scene, profiling makers and foodies, uncovering new restaurants and local business, and everything in between.
Beyond writing, some of my hobbies include reading, pilates, drinking coffee, skincare and astrology (I’m a Virgo sun, Virgo Rising and Pisces moon if you wanted to know). I also love cats, and have one named Oliver (who will absolutely steal licks from my wine glass if left unattended).
